Navajo Nation

Each June, Crestwood partners with churches from Texas and Louisiana to hold Vacation Bible School, construct a church building, and conduct a sports camp in conjunction with a small congregation on the vast Navajo Nation that straddles four states in the desert Southwest. This family-friendly mission trip allows adults, teens and children alike to participate in a cross-cultural ministry without leaving the United States.

Jesus the One and Only

Children of all ages hear the gospel under shelters erected at the church building site.

Teamwork

Starting in the chilly pre-dawn and working through the mid-day swelter, men and women scramble to complete a church building in four days.

Finishing the job

Raising the steeple is a highlight of each week of exhausting work.

Culture Exchange

Listening to Bible stories, doing art projects, singing and playing bond the youth as well as adults in Christian love.

Dedicating the Building

Each week ends with a rousing service of dedication as the local congregation takes possession of their new building.

It's not all work!

Enjoying the spectacular scenery and learning the history of these Native Americans helps make each visit to the Navajo Nation a rich and rewarding experience.
